| Guide for GIMP 2.6 First thing, Open what you want as a background. Now press copy (Ctrl +c ) Now, open up a different picture. Make it transparent, and Paste the background. Now, write what you want. (Its hard to see, but there) Now, Layers>Transparency>Alpha to selection Then, Select>Float Right click the layer thats floating, and Anchor Layer Now, Right click the background layer. Press add layer mask When this comes up, make sure it says selection! And....

| easier way.... xD alpha to selection on text, copy image you want, then paste into.

that doesn't work lol. the way i do it is that i copy it, then i go in paint brushes and use that when the text is selected. yours works better if you want a certain part of the bg to be in the selection. ANYWAYS.. nice guide!! | |

| Yikes, these is way harder than photoshop in photoshop ust go in the middle of the two layers you want clipped and Crtl and Alt :I | |

EDIT: I've tried it now, but the problem is it doesn't show up on the text. I follow the instructions, and the background doesn't show in the text. :/ | |
